Packed lunch and snacks will be carried with us, because we are going to spend lunch time in the bush, and return for a shower before dinner in the evening.
Day 9 Savuti to Chobe National Park
After our nights at the Savuti Channel, we travel northwards and check into a nice lodge in the area, or install our camp near the Chobe River. This journey will take approximately 5 hours.
Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets. The largest elephant population (+-30 000) in Africa lives in the region and we may have the opportunity to watch herds of elephant drinking at the river.
We aim to reach Chobe so that the evening will be spent on river cruise on the Chobe if you want (at an extra cost). This will make for a nice change to the game-drive vehicle and give you lots of elephants and other animals in a fantastic sunset on the river. We recommend the sunset cruise as it is a really special experience, seeing all the elephants coming down to drink while the sun sets over the river.
If you want to do the sunset river cruise we will overnight at a local lodge to accommodate this. All campsites are inside the National park, which means you have to be in your campsite at 7pm, so you are not able to do the sunset cruise and get back to camp in time. If you opt to not go on the additional boat cruise we will go for an afternoon game drive in the area.
Day 10 Chobe
Early wake up for our last morning game drive in Chobe, and then we will end the safari in Kasane in time for your onwards journey or transfer to Victoria Falls.
This includes all safari activities except boat Cruise in Chobe, vehicle, fuel, professional guide, park and camping fees, fully staffed and equipped camps, back-up vehicle, all meals, drinks etc. We run our full-service safaris with Meru style tents with en-suite bathrooms (toilet & shower).
